Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Naselle Comets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by the Wildcats on the road and fell 98-44. Naselle's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Naselle lost on Saturday, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Lindstrom. Despite the final result, he threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jack Strange also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
It was another big night for Kalub Dreger, who rushed for 401 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 22.3 yards per carry for Wilbur-Creston-Keller. Dreger is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last ten games he's played. Preston Michel was another major influence, as he rushed for 174 yards and ran in a TD.
Naselle's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Wilbur-Creston-Keller, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Naselle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wilbur-Creston-Keller will face off against Mossyrock at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mossyrock knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Wilbur-Creston-Keller likes a good challenge.
