Centennial's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Port St. Lucie as they made off with a 12-0 victory.
Rayne Cohen made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
In other batting news, Centennial let Jaelyn Cooke and Lauralei Wetherall run wild. Cooke scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2, while Wetherall went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Cooke has posted since back in May of 2024. Emma Hazelton was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Martin County got the win against Central on Thursday by a conclusive 12-2.
Kalei Bertke was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Amelia Hannah, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Martin County, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-6.
