The Peyton Panthers lost against the Simla Cubs on December 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Peyton took a hard 67-53 fall against Simla. While losing is never fun, Peyton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Simla is ranked second).
Peyton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ayden Breese, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Gabriel Gatti was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Peyton's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Simla, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Peyton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Center at 4:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Simla will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on McClave at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
