Poyen were able to grind out a solid win over Bigelow on Friday, winning 39-28. The success made it back-to-back wins for Poyen.
The match started off well for Poyen, whose offense put up 19 first-half points. Bigelow countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 19-6 going into the half. Poyen were outperformed in the second half 20-22 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win. The victory bumped their record up to 5-2. Bigelow are on a four-game losing streak that has brought their record down to 3-4.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Poyen will stay at home next week against Quitman at 7:00 PM. Bigelow will be staying on the road, facing off against Magnet Cove. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
