Friday just wasn't the day for The McKinley Tech Trainers''s offense. They had to suffer through a rough 57-0 loss at the hands of Bell. McKinley Tech has struggled against Bell recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Antonio` Washington, who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Washington was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Chris Palmer also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
McKinley Tech's loss was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 1.2 points per game. As for Bell, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
McKinley Tech will head out on the road to face off against Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Bell will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Anacostia at 6:00 p.m. on November 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Anacostia is ranked 14th, while Bell is ranked tenth).
