It was a good run, but The Northpoint Christian Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Lausanne Collegiate 27-21. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northpoint Christian in their matchups with Lausanne Collegiate: they've now lost nine in a row.
Northpoint Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Patterson, who threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns.
Lausanne Collegiate found their leader in underclassman Tj Jenkins, who rushed for 98 yards on only eight carries, and also threw for 98 yards and a touchdown. Lausanne Collegiate also got a significant boost from Tyler Wilson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 117 yards.
Northpoint Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Lausanne Collegiate, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1.
Northpoint Christian will head out on the road to face off against Evangelical Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evangelical Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 219th in Tennessee, while Northpoint Christian is ranked 55th in Mississippi). As for Lausanne Collegiate, they will be playing at home against University School of Jackson on Friday.
