The Indian Valley Braves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Tuscarawas Valley at home and fell 62-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Indian Valley has scored all season.
It was another big night for Leah Bourquin, who scored 16 points for Tuscarawas Valley. Bourquin hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Chloe Salapack was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Indian Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Tuscarawas Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Valley will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Tri-Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Tri-Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Indian Valley in Ohio (Tri-Valley is ranked 169th, while Indian Valley is ranked 360th). Tuscarawas Valley will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sandy Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
