The Liberty Lions will stay at home for another week and welcome the Centennial Coyotes at 5:00 p.m. on December 2nd. One thing working in Liberty's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
Liberty had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They really took it to Highland for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-12 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Liberty, who have now won nine games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Navi Bruzon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 67 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 238 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Braylon Gardner, who picked up 134 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Centennial and Basha (ranked 29 and 46 in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile matchup. Centennial came out on top against Basha by a score of 35-27 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Centennial.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centennial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenneth Worthy, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 75 receiving yards. Worthy's longest rush was for an incredible 92 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kainan Manna, who threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes.
Liberty's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Centennial, their win bumped their record up to an identical 11-1.
Liberty strolled past Centennial when the teams last played on November 3rd by a score of 36-17. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does Centennial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
