The Portland Adventist Academy Cougars suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Westside Christian, falling 69-31. Portland Adventist Academy has not had much luck with Westside Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Dane Petersen and Jayden Byram certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Petersen scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Byram scored no points.
Portland Adventist Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 10-4. As for Westside Christian, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Portland Adventist Academy will square off against Valley Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Portland Adventist Academy likes a good challenge. As for Westside Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Horizon Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Horizon Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Westside Christian is ranked seventh).
