Parker is 1-9 against River Valley since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Broncs will host the Dust Devils at 3:45 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Parker barely beat Mohave Accelerated the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Broncs were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Patriots on Friday. Considering the Broncs have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Fernando Baldenegro was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Parker's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is undefeated (and 4-8 when he doesn't). Baldenegro was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rowan Holt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Parker is undefeated when Holt posts three or more RBI, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zamir Milazzo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Parker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
River Valley came out on top against Odyssey Institute on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Dust Devils took their matchup against the Minotaur 10-5.
Like Parker, River Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Mikey Gonzalez. He struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Gonzalez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Hunter Koehler was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Parker, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
River Valley is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Parker, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Parker has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .460. However, it's not like River Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Parker suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to River Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Broncs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
