In what's become a running theme this season, the Riverbend Bears gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They really took it to Mountain View for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-31 victory at home. The victory was just what Riverbend needed coming off of a 57-33 loss in their prior matchup.
Riverbend had a senior duo take command as Olivia Long scored nine points along with seven steals and Maniyah Alston scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Alexander, who scored four points along with four steals.
Riverbend's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-4. As for Mountain View, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.
Riverbend will head out on the road to challenge North Stafford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for North Stafford: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Riverbend has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road. As for Mountain View, Mountain View and Colonial Forge will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
