Basketball Recap: Century Has No Trouble Against Shawnee

Century posted their biggest win since January 18th on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Shawnee Redskins with a sharp 78-52 victory. The Centurions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 22 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Shawnee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kyler Jewell dropped a double-double with 27 points and ten boards. Noah Mayberry was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Century is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. As for Shawnee, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Century and Dongola will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Century knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Dongola likes a good challenge. As for Shawnee, they will square off against Egyptian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Egyptian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season.
