The Highlands Latin Highlanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Whitefield Academy 55-7. Highlands Latin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-3.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Whitefield Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sara Ritter, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ritter has scored all season. Noel Smith was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Highlands Latin's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Whitefield Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highlands Latin will take on Portland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whitefield Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Bullitt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
