Pusch Ridge Christian Academy put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 67-12 win over Crismon on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-4.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sierra Gifford, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds, and Nicole NJoroge, who scored 17 points along with four steals. It was the first time this season that Gifford scored 15 or more points. Sedona Dietrich was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Safford, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-46 loss to the Sabercats on Friday.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Safford, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Everything came up roses for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy against the Bulldogs when the teams last played two weeks ago as the team secured a 60-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
