The Newark Valley Cardinals lost against the Tioga Tigers back in September of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Newark Valley had to suffer through a rough 63-6 loss at the hands of Tioga. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Newark Valley in their matchups with Tioga: they've now lost four in a row.
Tioga got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caden Bellis out in front who threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Drew Macumber was in the mix too, providing Tioga with two touchdowns.
Newark Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Tioga, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Newark Valley will head out on the road to face off against Delaware Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Delaware Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Newark Valley in New York (Delaware Academy is ranked 113th, while Newark Valley is ranked 269th). As for Tioga, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Walton at 12:00 p.m.
