The Fleming Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 67-29 loss at the hands of Flatirons Academy. Fleming was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-16.
Despite the loss, Fleming still got an impressive performance from David Betley, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Flatirons Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pistol Chavez led the charge by scoring 16 points along with eight steals. Chavez hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Brandon Guildner was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Flatirons Academy used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Fleming. And. Jack Livingston made the most of the opportunity, scoring six points along with three steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Fleming has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Flatirons Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
