The Blair Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 107-78 victory over Sherman Oaks CES. Given Blair's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Sherman Oaks CES is ranked 877th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Blair to victory were Nazsir Cammon and Timmy Anderson. Cammon scored 31 points along with four steals, while Anderson dropped a double-double on 51 points and 13 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Serigne Deme, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds.
Sherman Oaks CES's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sebastian Heathington, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Heathington scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Andre O'Daniel, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Blair and bumps their season record up to 12-9. As for Sherman Oaks CES, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Blair will be playing in front of their home fans against Temple City at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Temple City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday. As for Sherman Oaks CES, they will head out on the road to challenge Vaughn at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vaughn comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
