The Juniata Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Susquenita Blackhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Juniata made easy work of Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy and carried off a 13-2 victory. The match marked the Indians' most dominant win of the season so far.

Daylyn Kennedy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Juniata let Bryce Harlon and Drew Geedey run wild. Harlon went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Geedey scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Geedey has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Kepner, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Juniata was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Susquenita hadn't done well against East Juniata recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Susquenita never let East Juniata get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The Blackhawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Chanse Fisher made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Fisher was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Parker Gardner was a standout: he scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Justin Reidlinger also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Susquenita and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Juniata, their record now sits at 3-0-1.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Juniata has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .500. However, it's not like Susquenita struggles in that department as they've averaged .461. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Juniata might still be hurting after the 12-6 loss they got from Susquenita when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Juniata avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
