Corona del Mar won the last time they faced Avalon and things went their way on Saturday too. The Sea Kings blew past the Lancers 12-3. The Sea Kings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Natali Vasquez made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs, nine RBI, and one double while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Bella Uy was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniella D'Agostino, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Corona del Mar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
