After a string of four wins, the Cedar Creek Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 67-52 fall against Pflugerville Connally. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cedar Creek in their matchups with Pflugerville Connally: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Robert Conrad, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Conrad hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Micah Mcdonald was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Pflugerville Connally got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mekhai Bryant out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Bryant hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Phagans, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Cedar Creek's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 16-7. As for Pflugerville Connally, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Cedar Creek will be playing at home against Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pflugerville Connally, they will head out on the road to take on Bastrop at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bastrop has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
