Lake Wales won the last time they faced Lake Gibson and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lake Wales Highlanders simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lake Gibson Braves 90-14. The Highlanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Lake Wales' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Destiny Witherspoon led the charge by going 11 of 16 on her way to 23 points and seven steals. Witherspoon has become a key player for Lake Wales: the team is 7-2 when she posts at least five steals, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tateyanna Mickel, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals.

Lake Wales is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Lake Gibson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Lake Wales wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-36 loss against Lincoln Park Academy on the 10th. Lake Gibson has also already played their next matchup, a 62-25 defeat against Victory Christian Academy on the 13th.
