This season hasn't been kind to the Purchase Line Red Dragons, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They were the victim of a tough 63-43 loss at the hands of Harmony Area on Monday. Purchase Line has struggled against Harmony Area recently, as their contest on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Purchase Line's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stephen Perruso, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Perruso hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Owen Misko, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Purchase Line were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Jack Bracken, who scored 41 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks for Harmony Area. That makes it five consecutive games in which Bracken has scored at least 25% of Harmony Area's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Hagens, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Purchase Line bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Harmony Area, their victory bumped their record up to 1-4.
Purchase Line will head out on the road to face off against Cambria Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cambria Heights comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Harmony Area, they will be playing at home against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
