The Sunset Knights will take on the Coral Reef Barracudas at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Sunset's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while Coral Reef has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Sunset turned things around against Brito on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 7-3.

Nicholas Roca was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. David Rodirguez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Sunset was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Coral Reef got the win against South Miami on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-3.
Adrian Nunez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Coral Reef: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 2-13 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Coral Reef let Dylan Castro and Oscar Sanchez run wild. Castro scored three runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-3, while Sanchez went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Coral Reef is undefeated when Sanchez posts three or more hits, but 3-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Wagner, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
Coral Reef is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sunset, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
Sunset suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Coral Reef in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. Will the Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
