After losing to the Kentucky Country Day Bearcats the last time they met, the Iroquois Raiders decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Iroquois put the hurt on Kentucky Country Day with a sharp 46-26 win on Tuesday.
Iroquois found their leader in underclassman Maliyah Poindexter, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 10 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Poindexter has scored at least 25% of Iroquois' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fifi Munezero, who scored 8 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.
The win got Iroquois back to even at 1-1. As for Kentucky Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Iroquois will take on North Hardin Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kentucky Country Day, they will head out on the road to face off against Highlands Latin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
