It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Ferndale Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 32-7 margin over the Tigers. Considering Ferndale has won seven matches by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The win (which was Ferndale's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.2 points per game. As for Portola, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-1.
Ferndale will square off against Fairfax at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Fairfax: 17.6, Ferndale: 13.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Portola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
