The Miami East Vikings put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Covington by a score of 51-40. Given Miami East's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Covington is ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Katie Paulus went supernova for Miami East, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Paulus scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jacqueline Kadel, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Miami East pushed their record up to 22-0 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Covington, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-5.
Miami East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Covington, they will head out on the road to take on Franklin Monroe at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Covington is facing Franklin Monroe at the right time seeing as Franklin Monroe is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
