Foresthill (Calif.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 32 points, drop to six before the final whistle blew on a 32-26 victory over
Ripon Christian (Ripon, Calif.).
After taking the lead on a
Rocky Thompson touchdown run in the second quarter, the Wildfires led 24-0 at the half.
Foresthill saw its 24-point halftime lead fall to 20 entering the fourth.
The Knights fell even though
Danny Vos threw four touchdowns in the loss.
FHS's standout player in the win was
Tommy Sawyer. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored twenty-seven touchdowns on the season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Ripon Christian, which notched a 42-22 victory over Elliot Christian in its previous outing. The loss snapped Ripon Christian's 3-game winning streak.
