Meanwhile, JSerra Catholic and Roosevelt (ranked 41 and 20 in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile contest. JSerra Catholic fell 64-51 to Roosevelt on Friday. JSerra Catholic's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Mater Dei's defeat ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 26-3. As for JSerra Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 24-5.
