The Oswego Indians will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Prairie View Buffalos at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th. Prairie View took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Oswego, who comes in off a win.
Even though Oswego has not done well against Jayhawk Linn recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Oswego came out on top in a nail-biter against Jayhawk Linn and snuck past 34-32. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Oswego has posted yet this season.
Oswego's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rayden Myers led the charge by scoring nine points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Owen Jackson, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Prairie View's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 69-41 loss at the hands of Osawatomie. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Prairie View in their matchups with Osawatomie: they've now lost four in a row.
Oswego's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Prairie View, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Oswego lost to Prairie View on the road by a decisive 40-23 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Oswego avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
