Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Lincoln-Way East Griffins walked away with it. They blew past Barrington 49-6 at home. The victory was just business as usual for Lincoln-Way East, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.
Lincoln-Way East got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braden Tischer out in front who rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Nuri Muhammad, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Lincoln-Way East's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.64 points. As for Barrington, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-1.
Lincoln-Way East will face off against Loyola Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Loyola Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Barrington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
