Despite the loss, Diamond Hill-Jarvis saw an underclassman step up: Anthony Elizondo scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Elizondo has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Elijah Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Diamond Hill-Jarvis struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They are 1-3 when they can't control their own glass like that.
Benbrook's win bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Diamond Hill-Jarvis, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 13 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.
Benbrook will head out on the road to face off against the at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Diamond Hill-Jarvis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dunbar presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Texas (the Wildcats are ranked 370th, while the Eagles are ranked 1361st).
