The Edmeston Central Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Franklin Central 54-38. Winning may never get old, but Edmeston Central sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Shannon Kingsbury and Madeline Hyzer certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Kingsbury scored 13 points along with six steals, while Hyzer scored eight points along with 15 rebounds. Kingsbury is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Haylee Taggart was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Edmeston Central's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. As for Franklin Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edmeston Central will take on Canajoharie at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Canajoharie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 495th, while Edmeston Central is ranked 112th). As for Franklin Central, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Harpursville at 5:30 p.m.
