Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Joseph). They put the hurt on the Cabrillo Conquistadores with a sharp 12-4 victory on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-5 back in March.
Kali Padilla made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.
In other pitching news, Khandi Rodriguez looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Seleny Chavez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Emma Cruddas also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The Vikings will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cabrillo, they will square off against Orcutt Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
