Hobbs fell to Goddard 50-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Carlsbad made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,723 from 4,988. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-21 victory over Artesia last week.
The Cavemen's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Rodney Holcon threw for 207 and 3 touchdowns and Trevin Ramirez had 77 yards receiving. On the ground Holcon contributed 131 yards. Donovan Mcnv helped Carlsbad's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 38 yards.
He was 22-32 with 1 interception.
Holcon was the best running back in 5A District 4 this week. He ran for 131 yards on 19 carries as Carlsbad topped the Bulldogs. Teammate Elijah McCoy added to the ground attack by rushing for 90 yards.
Ron Arrington's team's Holcon and Ramirez led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Holcon has thrown for 1,142 yards this season, while Ramirez, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 32 catches for 364 yards. Kamal Cass from Clovis leads the league in rushing with 567 yards.
The Wildcats led the league in scoring this week by notching 59 points on the Wildcats.
