A well-balanced attack led the Stanton Mustangs over the Winside Wildcats in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Stanton blew Winside out of the water with a 49-14 final score. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Stanton has managed all season.
Leading Stanton to victory were Rebecca Stoddard and Olivia Hupp. Stoddard scored 14 points along with two steals, while Hupp scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Skyler Siebrandt was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two blocks.
The victory makes it two in a row for Stanton and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for Winside, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
Stanton will head out on the road to face off against Clarkson/Leigh at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Stanton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. Winside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
