Mandarin is 0-5 against Bartram Trail since August of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mandarin Mustangs will look to defend their home field against the Bartram Trail Bears at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Mandarin put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sandalwood 43-0 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Mandarin sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mandarin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tramell Jones, who threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes. Tiant Wyche was another key contributor, rushing for 113 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Bartram Trail sidestepped Oakleaf for a 45-42 win. The victory was just what Bartram Trail needed coming off of a 44-7 defeat in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Laython Biddle, who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Riley Trujillo, who rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Mandarin to 7-2 and Bartram Trail to 5-4.
Mandarin suffered a grim 42-20 defeat to Bartram Trail in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Mandarin have more luck at home instead of on the road?
