The Denton Broncos fell victim to the Argyle Eagles''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 59-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles. Denton's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Lawson Floyd threw for 26 yards on ten of 21 attempts. On the ground, LaMarques Robinson rushed for 64 yards.
Argyle was led to victory by Lane Stewart and Jake Krekeler. Stewart gained 101 total yards and three touchdowns, while Krekeler rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Slaton, who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Denton now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Argyle, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2.
Denton will take on Lake Dallas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Dallas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Denton in Texas (Lake Dallas is ranked 156th, while Denton is ranked 607th). As for Argyle, they will head out on the road to face off against Creekview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Creekview comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
