George Washington Prep won the last time they faced Crenshaw and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Generals blew past the Cougars 27-12. The Generals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 11 runs or more this season.
Aracely Gonzalez was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and 11 unearned) runs off five hits. Gonzalez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Katherine Franco and Emily Varela did most of the damage at the plate: Franco went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs, while Varela went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Varela has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Teaka Evans, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
