The Clovis Wildcats won the last time they faced the Caprock Longhorns, and things went their way on Saturday too. Clovis came out on top in a nail-biter against Caprock and snuck past 40-37. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Clovis has scored all year.
Clovis was led to victory by Kailyn Jefferson and Zarai Lewis. Jefferson scored 15 points, while Lewis scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Mackenzie Roche was another key contributor, scoring a points along with five steals.
Clovis pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Caprock, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clovis will take on Palo Duro at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Caprock, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Amarillo at 6:00 p.m.
