Paloma Valley is 1-9 against Valley View since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wildcats will host the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. Paloma Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Paloma Valley is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Thursday. They lost 11-5 to Liberty.
Kennedi McGee stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Lynda Guerra was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Valley View earned a 5-2 victory over Orange Vista on Thursday.
Giselle Morales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jacqueline Divine was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Barrios, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Valley View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 12 consecutive games.
Valley View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Paloma Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
Paloma Valley's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Wildcats have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Valley View, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Paloma Valley continue to outrun the ball?
