Meigs lost to Vinton County on April 11th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Marauders put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 15-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Marauders, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Natalie Goode made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bella Roush, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Newell, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two RBI, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Meigs and bumps their season record up to 12-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Vinton County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
