Meanwhile, while American Heritage put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for South Plantation. The Patriots walked away with a 3-0 win over the Paladins.
Like Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), American Heritage also got a great game from a two-way player: Isabella Benton. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Benton was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Benton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Adrianna Layne, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
American Heritage pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like American Heritage struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
