WATERBURY, Conn. - After swapping the lead two times,
Ansonia (Conn.) took the lead for the win when they scored a touchdown in the first quarter, paving the way for victory over Holy Cross (Waterbury, Conn.) 62-13.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, the Chargers led 49-13 at the half.
Ansonia grew its lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by
Tajik Bagley.
Arkeel Newsome and Bagley ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Crusaders. Newsome scored three touchdowns on the ground and Bagley added three as well.
The Chargers also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 33-0.
With the win Ansonia extended its winning streak to three games.
