The Legacy Longhorns will challenge the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Legacy has three straight victories, Cimarron-Memorial has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Legacy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Bishop Gorman, who was ranked third at the time (Legacy was ranked 24th). The Longhorns walked away with a 10-5 win over the Gaels on Thursday.

Legacy got a big performance out of Bomani Satterfield, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Satterfield is becoming a predictor of the Longhorns' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 7-12 when he doesn't). William Glover was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Cimarron-Memorial came up short against Rancho on Thursday and fell 6-2.
Isaiah Romero made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Cavallone, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Cimarron-Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Legacy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.
Cimarron-Memorial's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Legacy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. It's a different story for Cimarron-Memorial, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Legacy's hitters?
Legacy took their win against Cimarron-Memorial in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 17-7 score. Do the Longhorns have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
