Softball Recap: Jefferson Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stevens Point, Jefferson was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the East Troy Trojans an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ashlyn Enke made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Chloe Smith was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Hildie Dempsey was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one home run.

Jefferson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for East Troy, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will face off against Delavan-Darien at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Comets at the right time seeing as the Comets are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for East Troy, they will square off against Martin Luther at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: the Spartans will have lost five straight heading into Tuesday's matchup.
