The Kathleen Red Devils can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They breezed by George Jenkins on the road to the tune of 66-26. The victory was nothing new for Kathleen as they're now sitting on six straight.
It was another big night for Amaya Shaw, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Grier, who scored ten points along with two steals.
George Jenkins lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Marykate Benham, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Ivelisse Orengo was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Kathleen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for George Jenkins, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kathleen will take on Winter Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Winter Haven presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kathleen in Florida (Winter Haven is ranked 12th, while Kathleen is ranked 90th). George Jenkins won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McKeel Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully McKeel Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Thursday.
