After four games on the road, Glenn is heading back home. They will take on the South Bend Riley Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Glenn will be strutting in after a win while South Bend Riley will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Glenn didn't have too much trouble with Mishawaka on the road as they won 44-25.
Glenn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dani Divine, who scored 14 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Divine has scored at least 25% of Glenn's points. Another player making a difference was Sophia Romer, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, South Bend Riley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 38-28 to Mishawaka Marian.
Despite their defeat, South Bend Riley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lucy Franko, who scored 5 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Franko has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Tory Harmon was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.
The losses dropped Glenn to 7-4 and Mishawaka to 7-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Glenn have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23 rebounds per game. However, it's not like South Bend Riley struggles in that department as they've been even better at 24.2 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
Everything came up roses for Glenn against South Bend Riley when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 50-11 victory. Will Glenn repeat their success, or does South Bend Riley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
