Madison-Grant and Greenfield-Central are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Argylls will be playing at home against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
While Madison-Grant's victory against Marion wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Argylls skirted past the Giants 11-10. The win continues a trend for the Argylls in their matchups with the Giants: they've now won eight in a row.

Olivia Dunham was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Pyper Howard, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Patricia Van Matre, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Greenfield-Central made easy work of Franklin Central on Thursday and carried off a 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Ailea Dowdy looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Kristen Wineinger was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tovaria Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Greenfield-Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Franklin Central only posted an OBP of .333.
The win got Greenfield-Central back to even at 3-3. As for Madison-Grant, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Madison-Grant hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Greenfield-Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
