The Kalama Chinooks will venture away from home to face off against the Stevenson Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kalama will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Columbia on Tuesday. The Chinooks blew past the Bruins 24-18. The Chinooks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Colbie Manninen was a standout: she got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Ada Schlangen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.
Meanwhile, Stevenson won against King's Way Christian on Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 14-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won four in a row.
Jewel Waymire was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Waymire was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Stevenson got a massive performance out of Rebecca Townsend, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. Cayden Hulsey-Bible was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one triple.
Stevenson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Stevenson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Kalama, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kalama has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Stevenson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Kalama took their victory against Stevenson when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Chinooks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
