Jenkins extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-1. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Windsor Forest Knights 48-6. With the Warriors ahead 35-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Dominique Johnson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 51 yards and one TD, while also catching one score.
Jenkins didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Windsor Forest to a completion percentage of just 45%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Clinton Rhodes, Brian Swinton, Michael Jackson, and Ronnie Taylor, who each logged one passes deflected. Jenkins has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.61 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.61 in their last three games.
Jenkins' defense also made the game a nightmare for Jr Rowland, racking up eight sacks. It was truly a group effort as Zhire Sanders, Shaun Lee, and Aujshawn Izzard picked up two apiece. Sanders also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven. Jenkins received some extra help from Tyler Rhodes, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
As for Windsor Forest, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 377th, while Jenkins is ranked 68th).
Despite the defeat, Windsor Forest had strong showings from Rowland, who threw for 152 yards and one touchdown, and Dwane Franklin, who picked up 60 receiving yards and one TD.
Jenkins has already played their next matchup, a 37-28 win against Southeast Bulloch on the 10th. As for Windsor Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 49-22 loss against Long County on the 10th.
